Reflection on Equitable Access from a Data and Student Perspective Online
In Spring 2024, Dr. Maryanne Clifford and Dr. Nicolas Simon from Eastern Connecticut State University began researching the potential cost savings associated with an Equitable/Inclusive Access policy at their institution. This presentation highlights their research findings and discusses how OER advocates can assess the impact of Equitable/Inclusive Access programs using data from bookstore records and the class schedule catalog. It also explores student reactions to the implementation of Equitable Access, with a critical perspective from a student who actively opposed the initiative and discusses strategies for fostering student awareness of Equitable Access practices.
