Generative AI and Library Instruction: Keeping It Real (and Ethical!) (Professional Development Alliance Event)

This webinar will examine the increasing impact of generative AI on academic research and citation practices. It highlights findings from a survey and course assignment given to students in Florida Tech’s COM 2012: Navigating the Information Landscape during the Fall 2024 semester, designed to assess their understanding of generative AI and its potential pitfalls. The presentation will address best practices for ensuring accuracy and integrity when using generative AI, explore ethical challenges, and share strategies for librarians to foster responsible AI use in academia.
