Creating a Legacy: Mascots in Academic Libraries Online

Join us for a fun and informative webinar on using mascots to engage students and promote services. Librarians, Erika Montgomery and Allison Read, from USC Upstate will share the story of their library’s beloved mascot, “Goostavo”—a stuffed goose brought to life through creative outreach and student input. Learn how Goostavo was hatched, how students helped shape his identity, and how he’s been used to spotlight library resources, events, and services. The presentation will include examples of promotional materials and tips for creating and promoting your own library mascot.

As part of the session, PASCAL staff will also share what’s new with Pascal the bookworm, our very own PASCAL Delivers mascot and how you can get involved in the “Where is Pascal” campaign.

This 60-minute webinar is perfect for anyone interested in creative outreach strategies, library marketing, or just looking for some mascot inspiration.
